Religious Education Programs...
Forms
Pre-Primary
We offer a Religious Education program for the very young members of our parish. Classes for 3, 4, and 5 year olds
are held during 9:30 Mass on Sunday morning. This has proven to be a truly enriching experience for the little ones. Class size
is limited to 25 in the 3 year, 4 year, and kindergarten class.
THIS IS NOT A BABY-SITTING PROGRAM.
The little ones have a fully developed curriculum for their age level. Tuition is also required to pay for materials used
in class. Juice is served during class. This program normally begins in September.
Saturday Grades 1-6
The Saturday program is held every Saturday from 9:00 am to 10:15 am in the church. The text used for this course is the
"Christ Our Life" series which is published by Loyola Press.
Monday Grades 1-6
Elementary grade classes are also offered on Monday afternoons from 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm in the church. These classes meet every
Monday, with the exception of scheduled holidays published each year in our religious education calendar. These classes also
use the "Christ Our Life" series published by Loyola Press.
Junior High Program
This group meets each Monday evening in the church between 6:55 pm and 8:15 pm.
Confirmation Program
The Sacrament of Confirmation is offered to eighth graders at St. Nicholas. Instruction for this class is scheduled each
Monday, 6:55 pm to 8:15 pm. They also meet in the church.
Involvment in Sacramental Preparation
Instruction on the Sacraments of Penance and Holy Eucharist is given to all children in 2nd grade. Because of the importance
of the program, we are calling for support from the parents to exercise your right to participate as fully as possible in the
program. Parents and students will be asked to attend the program sessions. Parents will meet with the pastor.
Children will meet with the teachers and the director of religious education. All will participate at the short prayer
service at the end of the meeting. We hope that you will find this enriching, enlightening, and enjoyable. |
